No, I am saying that many people probably miss the chance to treat their cancer early because they don’t know the symptoms and because they have some wrong ideas about cancer in general.

I don’t believe that the “cancer industry” has a “cure for cancer” that they are witholding.
I do believe that the research process is kind of fucked up and cumbersome and that major changes to that process would save a lot of lives.
I think it’s more “healthcare for profit”, since it’s the big drug companies driving the ship but I don’t think any of the drug companies would wait a single second if they had a drug that looked like “a cure for cancer”.
But as Jen pointed out, there won’t be a single cure for cancer, there will be a bunch of cures for cancer, since they are similar but different diseases.

“Cancer” is not one disease. It’s a name for lots and lots of similar but different diseases. (This is perhaps not the most technically accurate way of expressing this so please fix my words those who know better). The point is, there will never be “a cure for cancer”. There will have to be many similar but different cures.
