Gack!
I woke up this morning to an e-mail from a friend who is having a double mastectomy because she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She is having her surgery today.
It just sucks.

My very best wishes to Mary who is incredibly articulate by the way. What is it with you people in Canada? Better schools?
Speaking of Canada, I have a question about the treatment you received there. Did you have radiation of your abdomen after chemo? Just curious, because whatever your Canadian doctors did seems to have worked well.

Liz,
nope, no radiation for me. 6 chemo treatments, 3 weeks apart.
I got lucky because I had a surgical gyno-oncologist, and apparently having that sort of surgeon increases one’s survival odds by 50%. That’s what I have read elsewhere.
And yes, all Canadians are super-smart and all deeply concerned with social justice and, of course, we all are completely bi-lingual. Heh.
Lovely to hear from you, Liz.
